Lion Bob Schnaible (left) was recognized for 40 years of service, while Lion Lee Voyles (right) was honored for 35 years of service as a member of Lions.

  • It was a busy evening Tuesday (October 13, 2015) for the Belle Fourche Lions Club.  The group gathered at The Stadium Sports Grill and President Leo Orme (center)  welcomed 2nd Vice District Governor Lion Tim Brown (left) and 1st Vice District Governor Terry Peterson (right).

  • On behalf of the Belle Fourche Lions Club, Lion Larry Miller (center) accepts the MD5 "Club Website of the Year" award from 1st Vice District Governor Terry Peterson (at left).  Club President Leo Orme is at right.
  • <I><B>ANOTHER LIONS SHELTER COMING TO BELLE FOURCHE!</I></B>

The frame of the latest Lions shelter taking shape adjacent to Herrmann Park.  Lions have constructed about a dozen shelters throughout the various city parks in Belle Fourche.  This is the way it looks, as of September 19, 2015. <i> (Thanks to Lions Joyce and Rich Drabek for these photos.)</i>
  • Even Lions need to take a break and get nourishment!  Lions Frank Walton, P.J. Sloan and Jim Osloond grab a brief lunch from laboring on the shelter.
  • Thanks to Lion Joyce Drabek for this and other photos of the Lions Shelter construction adjacent to Herrmann Park.  Sunshine and not-too-warm weather assisted workers with their tasks.

  • These were among the Lions members who have helped in erecting the new Lions shelter at Herrmann Park.  Shown standing (left-to-right) are:  Joyce Drabek, Bob Schnaible, P.J. Sloan, Rick Walton, Frank Walton, Jim Osloond, Del Neumeister, and Brian Kline; seated are: Sue Neumeister and Ron Ensz.  Following their hard work, the group enjoyed some BBQ sandwiches, chips, brownies, and cookies, thanks to Lions Sue and Joyce. Lion Rich Drabek is behind the camera. Great job, Lions!
  • <b><i>INTERNATIONAL YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAM</i>
July 12-18, 2015</b>

Nearly three dozen youth from 10 nations participated in the Lions International Youth Exchange Program at Kamp Kinship near Deadwood, South Dakota.  Most of the group assembled for this photo while visiting the Belle Fourche Fire Department.

  • Lions Joyce Drabek and Tom Nary serving lunch to youth exchange participants and program staff.  Countries represented included:  Brazil, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Poland, Spain, and the United States.
  • Belle Fourche Mayor Gloria Landphere shared a lighthearted moment during her welcome to the international youth exchange participants.
  • Taking a moment to say hello!  It's an opportunity of a lifetime for these young people — a chance to help create and foster a spirit of understanding among peoples of the world.
  • These two attendees were from Israel.
  • The youth exchange program helps create cultural awareness not only for the youth involved — but also for the many parents hosting them.
  • Making friends.
  • When you visit a Fire Station, there's no better fun that sitting behind the wheel of Engine #1.
