This photograph was taken at mid-day, Friday, May 2nd, following our "Blizzard of '08." The skies were clearing, temperatures moderating, and it was a rather tranquil site.

Joanne Banthin took this one as the snow was still flying, but letting up just a bit. The Miller garden home is on the left -- the Riley home on the right.

The city plow was hard at work by mid-day on Friday, May 2nd. Notice the snow covering the Chesnut vehicles and the Nickisch entry.

By Monday, May 5th, temperatures were again pushing 80 degrees in Spearfish.

The National Weather Service posted a flood watch for much of the northern Black Hills and the plains to the north.
