This is the wedding picture of Peter and Dora (Eckerdt) Miller on March 21, 1909 in Longmont, Colorado. Both were immigrants from the Volga region of Russia, but they didn't meet until they arrived in Longmont. Just click on the image to enjoy a larger photo.
A close-up of Pete Miller. Born in the Volga community of Unterdorf, Russia in 1886, Pete came to the United States with his older sister, Eva Behm, and her family.
Pete Miller -- and his ever-present flat hat. This photograph was taken in Whitney, Nebraska, where the Millers lived for many years, beginning in 1927. Apart from doing farm work, Pete worked for many years as the ditch rider for the Whitney Irrigation District.
Okay....I think this is a Schmill boy at left, with Albert and Fred Miller. Although the photograph is undated, it was probably taken in the early 1930s in Whitney.
I believe this is Bertha Miller and little brother Albert or Fred.
Linetha, Larry and John Miller. This photograph was taken in Chadron, Nebraska in about 1944.
Wow! Not sure who all these gals are, but that's Bertha (Miller) Bird second from the left; Pauline (Miller) Pollock Murray is at the far right. This picture was probably taken in the Houston, Texas area, which is where Bertha and Pauline lived since they were young women.
Neighbor Jake Vollmer is barely in this ca. 1946 picture taken in frontof the Pete and Dora Miller home in Whitney, Nebraska. Others in the back are Jan Miller, Pete Miller, Dick Derrick and Dora Miller. In front (with his tongue out is John Miller, keeping his younger brother Larry in tow), Linetha Miller, and Shirley Derrick.
Probably taken in the mid-1950s, but we are not certain of the location. This is Dora and Pete Miller.
Alex Miller, John Miller, Louis Bird, and Fred Miller. Taken in "downtown" Whitney, Nebraska. The white building at the far right served as the U.S. Post Office for many years. This was probably taken in the mid-1950s, perhaps at about the time of Pete Miller's funeral in June of 1957.
