During the summer and fall of 2006, Karen & Larry bicycled the 109-mile Mickelson Trail twice. This wonderful trail is a part of the "Rails to Trails" program, and we think this must be one of the most beautiful trails in the country. These are some of the photos we took along the way.

Galey Media > Trail security? No, just a few dozen National Guard OCS trainees hiking from Lead to Rochford -- about 25 miles. They coveted our bicycles!

Galey Media > Karen stands before one of four hardrock tunnels on the trail. These were cut for the original railroad line between Edgemont and Deadwood. Burlington Northern abandoned the line in 1983.
